Hello.
Thank you for taking time to visit us here at
Birchwood. Birchwood Beagles was established in 1973 in Cook, Minnesota. In 1985 English Foxhounds were added to our family. In 1987, we relocated to Glencoe, Minnesota, about 50 miles west of
Minneapolis, MN. In 1998, we hosted a 25 year "family" reunion with our beagles. 60 human friends and 26 of our four legged friends had a fun filled day.
Birchwood is a small facility, which allows us to focus on a quality breeding program. All Birchwood dogs are AKC registered and bred to meet AKC standards for the
breed. Each Beagle or English Foxhound was introduced to our breeding program because they possessed one or more of the qualities we desired to enhance our litters. The Birchwood name has become a
respected name in the show ring today. We pride ourselves that Birchwood champions have gone to other breeders where they have produced show winners for their owners. Others have gone to loving homes
where they have become wonderful companions for many years. We feel that is what a good breeding program is all about.
Birchwood Beagles and English Foxhounds can be found
in pedigrees throughout the United States and Canada, and now South America. Our Beagles are featured in two Beagle books and we have participated in breed videos for both the Beagle and
English
Foxhound. Along with our commitment to the conformation show ring, we are now participating in obedience and agility with Max, a Beagle, and in agility with Breeze, an English Foxhound. A further
statement to the versatility of these fine breeds.
We encourage you to study any breed before you make a purchase, as ownership of a pet is a long term commitment. We are always available to answer your questions
and assist you in making an informed decision.
